Last week, the Reservations Team was approached by Christine Hendricks, who is affiliated with Ship Harbor Inn, to come out and have a complimentary breakfast and take a tour of their facility. We happily obliged as none of us had actually been to the Inn.
If you’ve ever been out to the Washington State Ferry Terminal in Anacortes, you’ve passed right by the tucked away entrance to Ship Harbor Inn. The signage gives the property a bit of a mis-leading appeal, maybe more rustic and dated, but in reality the property is quaint and comfortable.
Christine greeted us with a warm smile and showed us our way to their banquet room which hosted an expanded continental breakfast, a cozy fireplace and a beautiful view of the ferry terminal which expands out to Rosario Straits. Breakfast included coffee, cereal, belgum waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruits, oatmeal, etc., and according to Christine, they’ll be adding more to the spread as they go along. Danielle, who has wheat and dairy sensitivies also mentioned that it would be a good idea to have some easy to prepare foods for those who are gluten and dairy free.
It needs to be said – one of the best ammenities that this location has to offer is the view!
Christine then took us on a tour of the rooms. Although the oustide of the buildings have a bit of a simple look, the insides of the rooms are very classy and well put together… and clean! They also have quite a variety of rooms to choose from including a very nice single queen room (standard, but not chinsy!), classy king suites (think fireplace…and jacuzzi tub!) and kitchen cottages that are perfect for families. They also have a very classy apartment style suite that has two nice rooms and a pull out couch.
Each room features a water view, which is hard to come by in Anacortes – strangly! And a newly added work out center! Prices are pretty reasonable for the ammenities offered and they are pet friendly.
All and all, we were quite impressed. Kudos to Ship Harbor Inn for their proactive approach to marketing to our industry!
